VAN DER MERWE JOHANN
Dr. ETHZ and Master’s degree in structural engineering
Johann van der Merwe holds a master’s degree in structural engineering from Stellenbosch University in South Africa and obtained his doctorate at ETH Zürich in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mario Fontana. His research focused on material properties related to the spalling behaviour of concrete in fire. He is currently a senior lecturer in structural engineering at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
